Applies a shade that acts as a dimmer to ensure your eyes don't hurt. Far more powerful than Android's built-in brightness setting. Great for low-light gaming, web browsing, and eBook reading. It even saves battery life for AMOLED displays! More features: - Widgets: Easy access to preset brightness levels. - Tasker/Locale Plug-in! Set brightness based on time/place/etc. To disable, configure for 100% brightness. - Brightness slider uses logarithmic scale for fine-grained control. - Drag the app icon to your desktop to use for toggling on/off. - Prompts to confirm very low brightness settings. - Option to disable soft-key backlight (does not work on all phones).
NOTE: *** If you accidentally make your screen go BLACK *** 1. Pull your battery or (Nexus7) hold power button for 10 seconds 2. Uninstall the app to reset your bad brightness setting 3. Reinstall the app and use it normally again
This app will always be free! If you want to show your appreciation, please donate to Wikipedia on my behalf (and let me know you did):

A no fuss app that works as opposed to the one that claims to do it automatically which by the way doesn't work all the time.
linkanother WTF app?? yea it helps you with visibility issues but.. c'mon, it eats up valuable ram and most of, storage space... so if one is too conscious of their battery juice, this is not the answer, most especially with mid to low end devices...
link@Hero: What would you have me do? I reckon I'd be better off with any similar app, rather than put up with Android's Auto Brightness. Besides it doesn't consume that much RAM compared to the SMS, home, and lockscreen replacements that used to drain my device(s) battery. So far I'm so good and if not, I could always uninstall 'em.
linkI don't use it to save battery power. It takes out the mirror effect, when the sun is shining.
link@Erich, man, you don't have to be conscious with your case... you have a great phone! :) i just hate how apps get to play store without much quality check... and sound judgement.. :)) I have a lost of my WTF apps myself, but they more for aesthetics... im one vain droid fanboy :))
link@dirt, you could do away with a good, anti-glare screen protector.. i use it not because i'm worried of my screen but it avoids the sun reflection...
linkUnistalled this app and found a better alternative after testing other similar apps. Screen Adjuster, also a free app. Found it to be intuitive with more options.
