Swipe seems to have better accuracy... however, i like the look and flow of this app

David David  replied 2 days ago

Swipe more accurate than SwiftKey?? Interesting.... How would you compare both keyboards against Google's keyboard?

link

Kay Sun Kay Sun  replied 2 days ago

swype definitely has the best accuracy. I think swiftkey looks nicer. Google keyboard is really smooth and responsive, got accuracy but still not as good as swype.. but it doesn't seem to learn from you such I think is important.

I prefer SwiftKey and the more you use it, the better it becomes. aesthetically it's the best looking keyboard also.

I like this. Looks better than swype, but it's nowhere near as accurate as swype is

Dave Smith Dave Smith  replied 1 month ago

Give it time. It learns as you type.

link

Kay Sun Kay Sun  replied 1 month ago

I clear the cache and ram a lot. Does that affect its learning?

NorthSidePolack NorthSidePolack  replied 1 month ago

Kay...nope. It doesn't. I have this, too...and I've never liked QWERTY keyboards. I second Daves' notion. Give it time.

I bounce back and forth between Swype and Swiftkey but I still use Swype more for its superior prediction. It's the best in my opinion.

Dave Smith Dave Smith  replied 1 month ago

Make sure you go into the settings and let it learn from Facebook, Twitter, and your text messages. That will make it even smarter.

Brian Olmstead Brian Olmstead  replied 1 month ago

True, that will help but interesting that Swype doesn't need to "learn", it just knows. Honestly thought, if Kii keyboard was as good as Swype's prediction, I'd use it always. Love Kii for its customization.

I hate swype

link

Kay Sun Kay Sun  replied 1 month ago

Ya i did all that, learn from this and that. I still find swype has better prediction. Anyway, I'll keep using this see how I like it over time

Also, swiftkey flow is really good. Better than swype IMHO. You don't have to pick up your thumb. Just swipe down to the space bar and back up to the next word.

David David  replied 1 month ago

SwiftKey Flow is awesome, give it a little time and don't slide your thumb too quickly around your screen.

swiftkey really nicee

Kay Sun Kay Sun  replied 1 month ago

But the whole point of swiping or sliding on the keyboard is for speed David! Lol

I also prefer swift key, because I have seen there is a return button on the keyboard. So I can delete wrong letters easily without using a ink killer. My screen looks mutch better now.

I'm going with SwiftKey Flow again. No doubt it is among the best, voice integration is awesome, just wish the themes were better.

Brian... Swiftkey just had an update not too long ago. They've added three new themes. Just an fyi.

Brian, you can suggest new themes in the Swiftkey forum

link

Brian Olmstead Brian Olmstead  replied 1 month ago

Thanks for the FYI, I noticed the new themes. Still a bit blah I am afraid. If SwiftKey added true customizable options (ala Kii) it would be the best in my opinion. One can wish :-)
