AppAware

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is AppAware?

The AppAware mobile app helps you to find new Android apps that are currently installed by the community. Share also your installations and benefit by discovering apps that are installed by friends, many users (the trend!) or even around your location. AppAware does not replace the Android Market, it shows you the real adoption of apps based on community installations and removals, rather than ratings and number of downloads from the official Market.

How much is your app?

FREE! AppAware is available for free in the Android Market.

Who are Avatars? Why do I have friends when I join AppAware?

Avatars are special characters which know about the best apps! You start with some Avatars as friends, but if you are not interested in a particular Avatar you can remove it from your friends. Avatar are maintained directly by the AppAware team and tell you about the most promising apps!

Is this the final website?

No. We are already working on a new and more complete version of the website, but currently it is not yet ready.

I have a technical problem or support issue I need resolved, who do I email?

The best way to get in touch with us is to send us an email at feedback@appaware.com

Where does the name come from?

We wanted to make you "aware" of "apps" used by your friends and other people, so we combined the two into AppAware.

How does privacy work?

We have adopted a friendship model with three levels of privacy: "public", "only friends" and "private". That means, if you’re "public" on AppAware, anyone can see your apps. In "only friends" mode only your friends can look at your apps. In "private" option, nobody can see your apps, not even your friends!

Can I hide a specific app?

Yes. In AppAware you can select apps which you want to hide from everybody and thus also from your friends. If you want to hide all apps you can also switch to private mode.

When are you going to make the app for iPhone, etc?

We are currently working on making the Android experience as solid as possible. Only then will we consider other platforms, but currently we have nothing to announce.
